Training Grants To Assist Parents Prepare For Re-Entry Into The

Workforce   

Hard work and a ‘can do’ attitude can only take your career to a certain point. The key to gaining employment or climbing the career ladder is a Training Grant to assist you to increase your work skills and improve your job prospects.  

The Parents Returning to Work Program is designed to assist eligible parents prepare for re-entry into the workforce.  

The grant entitles the holder to training and related expenses up to the value of $1,000.Parents Returning to Earning

Who is eligible?

  • Have been absent from education, accredited training* and the workforce for over two years while caring for children

  • Are currently unemployed and wish to return to work, preferably in the next 12 months **

  • Have not worked for more than 4 months full time, or equivalent part-time, in the last 2 years

  • Are Australian residents living in Victoria***

  • Will enrol in training to improve their workforce skills and/or earning potential

  • Have not received a grant under the program Parents Returning to Work

  • Were unable to activate their Parents Returning to Work grant due to unforseen circumstances.

* Accredited English Language training is an exception to this condition

** For the purposes of the Returning to Earning program, 'unemployed' is deemed to include paid employment for less than 6.5 hours per week.

*** TPV holders are deemed as eligible residents

 

It’s easy to apply for the training grant – The Malka Group will assist

 you every step of the way

You need to apply for the grant before you enrol in your training course:

  • Complete a Statutory Declaration to verify you meet the eligibility criteria

  • The Malka Group will provide with a Statutory Declaration

  • Bring your Statutory Declaration to The Malka Group for processing

  • You will be provided with a Grant Identification Number

Enrolling in Training

Your Grant Identification Number will be used when you enrol with The Malka Group

We will provide you with a list of training courses that will improve your skills for the workforce and assist you to return to work.

All training costs will be covered by your Training Grant

Once you have commenced training you may be able to claim approved training related expenses

Obtaining workplace skills will help you to move into employment or higher level positions and give you more employment opportunities.
