This qualification reflects the role of individuals who have a defined and limited range of hospitality operational skills and basic industry knowledge. They are involved in mainly routine and repetitive tasks and work under direct supervision. This qualification provides a pathway to work in various hospitality settings, such as restaurants, hotels, motels, catering operations, clubs, pubs, caf s, and coffee shops.

SITXCOM002 – Show social and cultural sensitivity
SITXWHS001 – Participate in safe work practices
SITXFSA001 – Use hygienic practices for food safety
SITXCCS006 – Provide service to customers
SITXFIN001 – Process financial transactions
SITXINV001 – Receive and store stock
SITHFAB004 – Prepare and serve non-alcoholic beverages*
SITHFAB007 – Serve food and beverage*
*Prerequisite is SITXFSA001 Use hygienic practices for food safety

There are no entry requirements for this qualification. Applicant will be required to successfully complete an ACSF language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) assessment.
Learning (ACSF Level 2), reading (ACSF Level 3), writing (ACSF Level 2), oral communication (ACSF Level 3) and numeracy (ACSF Levels 2) are desirable to participate in the course.
After achieving the SIT20316 Certificate II in Hospitality, individuals could progress the SIT30716 Certificate III in Hospitality (Restaurant Front of House) and a wide range of other qualifications in the hospitality and broader service industries.
