Course Overview

The CHC43115 Certificate IV in Disability qualification reflects the role of a Disability Support worker in a range of community settings and clients’ homes. The Disability Support worker provides support in a manner that empowers people with disabilities to achieve greater levels of independence, self-reliance, community participation and wellbeing. Disability Support workers promote and support a person-centred approach, work without direct supervision within a Disability Service.

Work placement

120 Work placement hours (or currently working in the industry)
Students must have the current National Police Check and Working With Children Check prior to the commencement of their work placement.

CHCDIS010 – Provide person-centred services to people with disability with complex needs
CHCDIV001 – Work with diverse people
CHCLEG003 – Manage legal and ethical compliance
HLTAAP001 – Recognise healthy body systems
HLTWHS002 – Follow safe work practices for direct client care

Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements for this qualification. Applicant will be required to successfully complete an ACSF language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) assessment.
Learning, reading, writing, oral communication and numeracy (ACSF Level 3) are desirable to participate in the course.
