Course Overview

This qualification is designed for those who have already completed their Certificate IV in Building and Construction and are looking to further progress their skillset. By undertaking the CPC50210 Diploma of Building and Construction (Building) you will learn how to manage contracts and tender documentation, prepare estimates and monitor costing systems, manage sustainability practices and environmental processes, apply site-surveys and set-out procedures, and how to supervise and manage building projects.

 

You will have the opportunity to develop your technical and practical skills by attending Face-to-Face/Virtual Classrooms and Structured Work Placement.

As part of this course, you will also be required to undertake Work Placement in a Regulated Building and Construction Environment

  • Completion of the general induction training program specified by the National Code of Practice for Induction Training for Construction Work (ASCC 2007) is required before entering a construction work site. Achievement of unit CPCCOHS1001A covers this requirement.
  • Additional units of competency may be required to meet builder registration requirements in various States and Territories.

    CPCCBC4001A – Apply building codes and standards to the construction process for low rise building projects
    CPCCBC4003A – Select and prepare a construction contract
    CPCCBC4004A – Identify and produce estimated costs for building and construction projects
    CPCCBC4010B – Apply structural principles to residential low rise constructions
    CPCCBC4013A – Prepare and evaluate tender documentation
    CPCCBC5001B – Apply building codes and standards to the construction process for medium rise building projects
    CPCCBC5002A – Monitor costing systems on medium rise building and construction projects
    CPCCBC5003A – Supervise the planning of on-site medium rise building or construction work
    CPCCBC5010B – Manage construction work
    CPCCBC5018A – Apply structural principles to the construction of medium rise buildings

  • Entry Requirements

    There are no entry requirements for this Qualification however Students are required to undertake a Pre-Training Review including a Language Literacy and Numeracy Assessment. 

    These will assist with determining suitability into course entry and identification of any support needs.

  • Delivery Mode

    TMG College Australia provides the following delivery options: 

    Face to Face Training 

    In person Classroom Based training delivered at TMG College Australia sites. Face to Face delivery includes both theory and practical activities which are supported by structured Work Placement. 

    Structured Work Placement 

    As part of this course, students will also be required to undertake Work Placement in a Regulated Building and Construction Environment  

    Offsite Training 

    TMG College Australia can deliver training and undertake assessments using facilities at a Students Workplace, or in a Mobile Manner (e.g. delivery at a regional/remote location for a specific period or for a specific training course).  

    Mixed Mode Training 

    A combination of various delivery modes. Also known as "Mixed Delivery" or "Blended Learning". This includes Virtual, Face to Face and Workplace Based.  

  • Pathways

    Students who complete this qualification are able to undertake the CPC60212 Advanced Diploma of Building and Construction (Building) or the BSB61015 Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management.

    The following employment pathways are available to learners who complete this Qualification:

    • Builder

    With Concession - $68.40

     

    Fee For Service - $8,450.00

     

    The student tuition fees published are subject to change given individual circumstances at enrolment. 

    This training is delivered with Victorian and Commonwealth Government funding. TMG College Australia encourage individuals with disabilities to access training subsidised through the Skills First Program. People with disabilities are encouraged to apply for this training.

    Eligibility Criteria 1. You must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident or New Zealand Citizen. 2. You must not have completed the same AQF level qualification or higher than the course you wish to enrol in, unless under 20 years of age on 1 January this year. 3. You must not have commenced or be scheduled to commence more than two Victorian Government subsidised courses this year; and 4. You must not be currently enrolled in two or more Victorian Government subsidised courses.

    Traineeship incentives may be applicable on full time/ part time basis, subject to eligibility. Enrolment fees apply.
