You’ll learn the barista foundation skills: How to make the most popular coffee beverages, such as espresso, ristretto, hot chocolate, macchiato, latte, flat white, mocha, long black and cappuccino from unlimited milk and coffee. You will also learn coffee theory like coffee roasting and grinding tips.
The training will include a theory component were you will discover the history and the trail of how the original cherry is harvested, through to becoming the roasted coffee bean as we know it today, including where the cherry is grown. The practical component will have you making Espresso, Ristretto, Doppio, Macchiato, Latte, Flat White, Mocha, Long Black and Cappuccino from unlimited milk and Coffee.

Barista courses are held in the hospitality training area at TMG College Australia. TMG College Australia is located on 400 Queen Street, Melbourne.
At the end of our barista basics and latte art training, you will receive a certificate of achievement. You will receive a SITHFAB005 Prepare and Serve Espresso Coffee statement of attainment at the end of our accredited barista training.
Our barista trainers have years of experience working in the hospitality industry and are ready to help you master the art of making the perfect coffee.
We have three CIME CO-O5 espresso machines which are all 3-group-semiautomatic. And for the coffee grinder and grinder-dosers, we are equipped with SANTOS automatic silent espresso coffee grinder Type 55, MAZZER Super Jolly automatic grinder-doser and MAZZER Super Jolly electronic grinder-doser.
There are some small differences between commercial coffee machines, but they all work in the same way. Once you learn to use our coffee machines, you’ll be able to use any commercial espresso machine found in different workplaces.
So you can get the maximum amount of attention from our experienced trainers, there is a cap of nine students per class.
We can guarantee that at the end of your course you will have made enough coffee you should be able to pour an espresso with your eyes closed.
You can still learn to become a barista if you’re not fluent in English. Our barista courses are hands-on training. Our experienced trainers will demonstrate the techniques you’ll be required to learn so you can watch and practice yourself.
No, there are no visa requirements. Everyone is welcome to attend one of our barista courses.
Yes, Cafe 411 is a simulated hospitality training environment operated by The Malka Group trading as TMG College Australia. RTO ID – 21694.
Upon completion of our basic and latte art Melbourne barista courses, you will get a certificate of participation and if you complete our accredited barista training you will get a statement of attainment. You will have the skills to start working in cafes throughout Melbourne. You will increase your employability if you also have your RSA. TMG College Australia also provides tips and assistance with crafting your resume so you can start approaching potential employers right away.
It is common for cafes in Melbourne to serve coffee and alcohol. To give yourself the best chance of finding work, it’s advised that you also have your RSA so you can serve with alcohol as well as coffee.
